Rev Up For Reading 2013
Our 4th annual benefit motorcycle dice run will be on July 27th, 2013. 100 mile ride through scenic central Pennsylvania with dice rolls at the library, Glenn’s Place in Claysburg, Magoo’s in Cresson, and the Bull Pen in Tyrone. Cash prizes for the highest and lowest dice roll scores! Registration will begin at the library at 11:30 AM, kickstands up at 1 PM. Dinner/dance to follow at the Bull Pen with live music from Sugar Ridge. The dance is also open to the public for a 5.00 cover charge.

This Summer the Library is Going to the Dogs!
To celebrate the Dog Days of Summer, the Friends of the Library will be selling chances on a dog bed covered with canine related goodies. Currently we’re collecting donations for the Every Dog Has Its Day raffle, so donations of non-perishable dog treats, food, toys, and other doggy accoutrements will be appreciated. We’ll be adding items to the raffle all summer long.

June UFO Nights
That’s unfinished object night, and every crafter has one! Bring your unfinished craft projects to the library and get inspired by your fellow crafters. We provide ample crafting space, electricity, an ironing board, and light refreshments. You bring your supplies and inspiration. Join us for an evening of crafting, conversation, and creativity! We’ll be holding our next UFO Nights on June 13th and 27th from 5-7 PM.

Careerlink Services Available at the Library
A Careerlink representative will be available in the library from 2-4 PM on Wednesday, June 12th. The Careerlink representative can help you update your resume, navigate the Careerlink website, and give you other job hunting assistance. No appointments are necessary, but we recommend calling the library at 684-1133 to confirm availability.

T-Shirt Decorating Workshop
On Tuesday, June 18th at 5:30 PM kids and teens can decorate a t-shirt with one of our special Dig Into Reading summer reading program iron-on transfers and then wear it to all of our summer reading events! This program is BYOT: bring your own t-shirt. We provide all the paint, transfers, and other decorations. This program is free and open to the public, but we ask that caregivers stay with their children.

Dig Into Reading Carnival
We’ll be kicking off our summer reading program with our annual carnival held in the library’s parking lot from 6-8 PM on Saturday, June 22nd. Play all your favorite carnival games & win prizes! This carnival is free and open to the public, but we ask that caregivers stay with their children. Refreshments will be available for a small donation to the library.

Free Magic Show Starring M&M Magic
The library will be hosting a free magic show featuring local teen magicians M&M Magic on Tuesday, June 25th at 6 PM. Enjoy an evening of illusions, comedy, and total entertainment with the whole family!

Dann & Servello CD Release Party
Musicians/youtube sensations Bill Dann & Jack Servello will be holding a release party for their new album Heroes, Legends, & Laughs at the library at noon on Saturday, June 29th. Come meet Dann & Servello and get an autographed copy of their album featuring their viral hits “Thor the Purple Squirrel from Jersey Shore” and “Heroes Close to Home.”

Family Place Playgroup
Our regular playgroup for children ages 1-3 runs in our community room every Thursday from 10 AM-11:30 AM. No preregistration is required for this informal playgroup. Just bring yourself and your children and enjoy!

Come See the Lettermen in 2014!
We’ve already scheduled our 2014 concert, and vouchers for tickets are available now! Just Too Good to Be True starring the Lettermen will be held in the Tyrone Area High School auditorium on Saturday, May 3rd 2014 at 7 PM. Tickets are 35 dollars each. Get your ticket voucher by calling 814-682-1017.
